NEW EDUCATION CENTRE
Sulgrave Manor education centre is a courtyard development in the grounds of Sulgrave Manor, a Grade I Listed building which was the ancestral home of George Washington. The range of new buildings are of traditional stone vernacular style with a new hall constructed in green oak which accommodate 100 people. Undertaken by conservation architects Acanthus Clews, the project was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund to the value of £750,000.
The new facilities provide alternative spaces for visitors to congregate and enjoy the formal landscape gardens which were designed by Sir Reginald Stonefield in the 1920’s The scheme was shortlisted for a Carpenters Award in 1999. Completion December 1998. Contract value: £875,000
