SPALDING GRAMMAR SCHOOL, LINCOLNSHIRE
ICT, LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE AND TEACHING ACCOMMODATION
Having been successful in gaining a Dfes grant for development on the site, (based on a strategic development review prepared by the practice) Spalding Grammar School undertook a 3 phased project with school architects Acanthus Clews that included an extension to their current CDT workshops, refurbishment of their administration offices and the construction of a new teaching block facility which included, ICT drop in centre, a library, rehearsal Studio and a suite of general teaching classrooms. Due to poor ground conditions and a high water table the steeel frame structure was designed upon piled foundations along with a complex surface water drainage system.
